Transfer to the hotel in Beirut.

Day 02
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full day tour visiting the Cedars forest and Quadisha Holly Valley inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1998.
The Quadisha valley is one of  the most important early Christian monastic settlements in the world. Its monasteries, many of which are
of a great age, stand in dramatic positions in a rugged landscape.
Nearby are the remains of the great forest of cedars of Lebanon, highly prized in antiquity for the construction of great religious buildings.

Return to the hotel in Beirut visiting on the way Byblos inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1984.
Byblos is a true microcosm of the civilizations that have populated Lebanon over the centuries. Believed to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, the modern port city of Jbail (Byblos) is built upon multiple layers of ruins, dating back to as early as the Stone Age and extending to the more recent Ottoman days. A visit to Jbail (Byblos) is a chance to walk through the annals of Lebanese history and experience firsthand the diverse cultures that have made this area a mosaic of civilizations.

Jbail (Byblos) is not simply a picturesque seaside town, but has a history that has been closely tied to the Mediterranean for millennia.

Day 03
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day tour to the South visiting Sidon & Tyre, which was inscribed in the world Heritage List in 1984.

   

Tyre According to the legend, purple dye was invented in . This great Phoenician city ruled the seas and founded prosperous colonies such as Cadiz and Carthage, but its historical role declined at the end of the Crusades. There are important archaeological remains, mainly from Roman times. On the way back from Tyre visit in Sidon, “Castle of the Sea”, a crusader’s castle of the 13th century then proceed to Khan El-Franj, a typical Caravan Serail. Overnight at the hotel in Beirut

 


Day 04
Breakfast at the hotel.
Full day tour to Baalbeck and Anjar inscribed in the World Heritage List in 1984.

Baalbeck, this Phoenician city, where a triad of deities was worshipped, was known as Heliopolis during the Hellenistic period. It retained its religious function during Roman times, when the sanctuary of the Heliopolitan Jupiter attracted thousands of pilgrims. Baalbeck, with its colossal structures, is one of the finest examples of Imperial Roman architecture at its apogee.

 

The city of Anjar was founded by Caliph Walid I at the beginning of the 8th century. The ruins reveal a very regular layout, reminiscent of the palace-cities of ancient times, and are a unique testimony to city planning under the Umayyads.
Return to the hotel in Beirut for overnight..


Day 05
Free until time of transfer to Beirut International
Airport for final departure.
