Day 01 MEXICO CITY arrival.

Arrive Mexico City.  Meet at airport and transfer to HOTEL SHERATON MARIA ISABEL,  excellent 5-star hotel in the heart of Reforma Boulevard.

Overnight.

 

Day 02 MEXICO CITY HISTORICAL CENTER – UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE.

Historic Centre of Mexico City and Xochimilco inscribed in the World Heritage UNESCO list in 1987

 

After a hearty breakfast in your hotel,  our professional guide will call for you at your hotel for a visit to Mexico City Historical Center, declared a World Heritage by UNESCO.  

 

You will drive past the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts, Madero Avenue with the House of Tiles and Iturbide’s Palace,  ending at the grand Main Square or  Zocalo,  flanked by the Metropolitan Cathedral,  the majestic National Palace, the Town Hall and commercial arcades.   Your guide will explain the historical and political importance of the Zocalo, including a guided visit to the National Palace to see the historical Murals of Diego Rivera.  Once finished, you will continue for a drive South to San Angel Inn Restaurant where you will enjoy a light lunch. 

 

Short visit to the “Casa Azul” of Diego and Frida then continue to the UNIVERSITY CITY CAMPUS, declared World Heritage by UNESCO.   Drive along the Campus, see the majestic buildings, the murals and the Stadium – decorated by Diego Rivera. Return to your hotel past Chapultepec Park, and Lomas Hights.  An unforgettable day in Mexico City!

Day 03 GUADALUPE SHIRNE AND THE PYRAMIDS OF TEOTIHUACAN:   2nd. UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE VISIT.

Enjoy breakfast in your hotel, before departing in this interesting excursion.  Our first stop will be the Square of Three Cultures, a historical collage of pre-hispanic, colonial and modern Mexico.  Continue to the Basilica de Guadalupe, where the original image of Our Lady of Gudalupe is venerated by thousands of Catholics every day.    Continue to the archaeological zone of San Juan Teotihuacan, to see the famous Pyramids of the Sun and the Moon. The Temple of Quetzalcoatl and other interesting vestiges of this ancient civilization.  Teotihuacan has been declared World Heritage by UNESCO.   Lunch will be served at a local, typical restaurant,    Return to hotel in the late afternoon.  Overnight

 

Day 04 MEXICO CITY – Departure – or extension to more UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE MONUMENTS in Mexico.

 

Your last day includes breakfast in your hotel, and departure transfer to the airport for return home – or to nearby Mexican sites also declared World heritage by Unesco:  Taxco,  Puebla, Oaxaca, Palenque, Calakmul, Uxmal, Chichen Itza (now one of the New 7 Wonders of the World), and many more!
